Where Major Champions Play

Sheboygan has become one of the top golf destinations in the world.  Whistling Straits is host of the 2004 and 2010 PGA Championships, and Blackwolf Run is host of the 1998 and 2012 United States Women’s Open. You’ll also find The Bull at Pinehurst Farms which is the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in the state. The area is also home to courses for golfers of all levels including traditional gems such as; Riverdale Country Club and Quit Qui Oc Golf Course.

There are few places where you’ll find so many options and all within 20 miles of one another.

 

Blackwolf Run – River and Meadow Valleys Courses

Home to two breathtaking courses nestled into a river basin formed by the flows of glacial runoff. Truly one of Pete Dye’s crowning achievements, Blackwolf Run has hosted the 1998 U.S. Women’s Open and Andersen Consulting World Championships in 1995, 1996, 1997, and 2012. Blackwolf Run opened for play in June 1988 and was named that year’s “Best New Public Course” by Golf Digest. It has continued to accumulate awards and honors including regularly being ranked on the list of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” by Golf Digest and the “Top 100 You Can Play” by GOLF Magazine.

The Bull at Pinehurst Farms

Wisconsin’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. Golf Digest rated at 4 1/2 stars. The Bull is a unique combination of grassy, rolling meadows and a trip into deep, mature hardwoods. You’ll find stunning views and plenty of risk-reward opportunities. This course was also ranked one of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” by Golf Digest.

Quit Qui Oc Golf Club

Quit Qui Oc opened in 1927 and was designed by Tom Bendalow. It includes complete golf course amenities on a scenic and challenging 27-hole layout. Peak season 18-hole rates range from $35-$39.

Riverdale Country Club

Opened in 1929, Riverdale Country Club is an 18-hole course located minutes south of Sheboygan’s city limits. This traditional layout can test players of all skill levels. The friendly, yet competitive design with attractive rates, is open to the public.

Town and Country Golf Course

Home to one of the largest golf shops in the Midwest and a multiple Wisconsin PGA Merchandiser of the Year Award winner, Town and Country is made up of 27 championship golf holes. Reasonable daily rates as well as numerous league and membership opportunities.

Whistling Straits – Straits and Irish Courses

A throwback to the raw freshness of Ireland sculpted into the Wisconsin coastline, Whistling Straits offers two courses which have hosted the PGA Championship, U.S. Senior Open and Palmer Cup. Experience these two must-play courses, both ranked among the best in the United States. The Straits course is a true masterpiece of architect Pete Dye, ranking #3 on Golf Digest’s 2009 Top 100 Rating. Open, rugged and windswept defines the terrain of this walking-only, links-style course sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. Often unfairly overshadowed the Irish Course stands on its own as one of the best courses in the country and ranking #30 on the same Golf Digest list.

Evergreen Golf Course

Evergreen Golf Course is a 9-hole municipal course with driving range located in Plymouth. Great beginner’s “short course.”

Miller’s Glenn Golf Course

The 9-hole “Heartland Hills” course at the Miller’s Glenn Golf Course facility in Howards Grove, WI, features 2,500 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 34. The course rating is 33.6 and it has a slope rating of 108. Designed by Dave Heling, the Heartland Hills golf course opened in 1990.

Sunset Hills Golf Course

Golfers of all ages and skills levels are welcome at the scenic Sunset Hills 9-hole course. Sunset Hills has a driving range and offers season passes.

Kohler Golf Academy

Facilities at Whistling Straits, Blackwolf Run and the Kohler Golf Academy Indoor Studio located at the Shops at Woodlake, (920) 565-6075

Ranked in the top 50 best golf schools in America by GOLF Magazine. The Kohler Golf Academy offers a variety of golf instruction programs including private lessons and multiple day golf schools. The academy provides year round instruction.
