Family Fun

Friday

Arrive early evening.

Check into hotel.

Younger children will love the KidAquarium or Boathouse Suites at the Blue Harbor Resort & Spa, and of course, they’ll love the Breaker Bay Waterpark, too! With full kitchens at the Blue Harbor Condos, kids can make their favorite foods from home!

It’s time to eat!

Start off your weekend with a casual family dinner at the Highland House. Parents—relax on the deck and sip on a drink while the kids work off some energy on the boardwalk.

How about a free concert

in the park?

Every Wednesday evening during the summer, the Twilight Concert Series features a new group of musicians. Kids love playing and dancing in the park, and mom and dad will enjoy the slower pace in a safe environment.

Saturday

Wake up sunshine!

Kids love a sweet breakfast! French toast, pancakes, waffles and more—and of course, omelets for the bigger kids, too! Fountain Park Restaurant has it all, and kids are always welcome at Harry’s Diner, where even mom and dad will enjoy the cheery 50s decor.

Time to explore!

After breakfast, head over to The GameBoard and see what they’re playing today! At The GameBoard, you’ll find a large selection of classical, collectible, fantasy, educational and party games. And the best part—you always get to play before you pay at The GameBoard.

Next stop, Above & Beyond Children’s Museum for the little ones and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center for the bigger kids. Smaller children will love the suspended sky crawl and life-size tree house at the children’s museum. Older kids will enjoy the whimsical nature of the arts center and its magical gardens.

Head over to the Riverfront for an afternoon walk before stopping for lunch at Brisco County Wood Grill. Steaks, burgers and of course, a kids menu make this the perfect spot on the river for a scenic family lunch.

Hit the beach!

Bring the sand castle supplies and the biggest beach towels you can find. There’s no better way to spend a lazy summer afternoon with the kids. The sandy white Sheboygan beaches feature volleyball courts, kids’ play areas, grills and facilities. Be sure to check Deland and King Parks for an afternoon of fun in the sun and splashing in the water.

Is it time for dinner?

After a day at the beach, watch dad grill steaks for the whole family at the Fountain Park Charcoal Grill Steakhouse. Drive over to Texas Roadhouse and throw some peanut shells on the floor before diving into a juicy steak cooked just the way you order it. Or treat the kids to a hearty, home-style Italian dinner a Luigi’s, where they serve traditional spaghetti and lasagna just the way kids like it!

Try a little putt-putt!

Mini golf is always a great family time because your handicap doesn’t matter. Enjoy a game with the kids at Harbor Pointe Miniature Golf on South Pier.

Sunday

Take the morning to relax before planning a picnic at Bookworm Gardens. This enchanted masterpiece of imagination is worth the wait. Gracing the gardens is a life-size Hansel and Gretel house nestled in a forest setting among other over-sized playhouses and exhibits built for an interactive, engaging experience. Throughout the grounds you’ll find inspiring nooks and crannies hiding your favorite childhood stories. Prance through the garden’s natural habitat among chipmunks, turkeys, goldfish, butterflies, lady bugs, owls and variety of birds. Take in the fresh air before heading home.

One more stop.

Be sure to stop by Miesfeld’s Meat Market before heading home. Pick up Miesfeld’s award-winning Grand Champion Bratwurst—the one that made Sheboygan famous for brats. And don’t forget a pack of beef sticks for the ride back.
