Coffeehouse Chat

What is it about the coffeehouse that attracts so many people to linger casually with a cup of Joe? The coffeehouse is the one place in town where socialization melds with a variety of social values through a basic common desire to experience peaceful serenity while sipping on delightful flavors splashed with sprinkles of individuality. Yet every independent coffeehouse seems to have its own niche.

Z Spot
1024 Indiana Ave.
Sheboygan, WI 53081
(920) 457-6690

Locals swirl through the unassuming Z-Spot Espresso & Coffee drive-thru as they move into their daily routines. However, once inside this little one-story shop on Indiana Avenue, a sophisticated, artsy design with a contemporary touch emerges. Z-Spot offers a couple nooks for absorbing into deep conversation, but even the most enticing topics cannot distract visitors for long. Z-Spot is a coffeehouse, but there’s no denying that it is also an art gallery. In the afternoon, it’s a wonderful place to order a glass of wine with the pleasure of interesting company while falling under the spell of all the works on display surrounded by the rich aromas of Cedarburg Coffee and Rishi Tea. It’s topped off with an occasional poetry reading, acoustical ensemble and old music or movies playing softly in the background.

Weather Center Cafe
809 Riverfront Dr.
Sheboygan, WI 53081
(920) 459-9283

Early morning on the Riverfront, you can almost taste the silky whipped cream melt against the sinful chocolate flavor. The scenery is a little different in this fishing shanty coffeehouse. A group of local surfers gathers on the outside patio to discuss the day’s wind forecast. Vacationers mill about the river walk taking in the fresh air before sauntering off to their fishing charters. Families on holiday stop in for giant muffins and scrumptious, over-sized quiche. Time simply slows down at the Weather Center Cafe. Known for its easy-going, hip nature the Weather Center has become home to local artists, and its riverside patio is a favorite open mic spot of local musicians and aspiring songwriters.

Paradigm Coffee and Music

Imagine a cozy little downtown hot spot with a fiery passion for encouraging organic creativity in every form. While a variety of organic Alterra beans drain into ceramic cups and organically-grown vegetables melt onto toasty sandwiches, visitors are beckoned to embrace their own organic nature. A stream of independent music artists moves across the coffeehouse stage as colorful local artwork graces the walls. Paradigm Coffee and Music is an inspiration for all who pass through its doors.
